Today, February 2nd, a lone gunman assaulted a classroom in near by Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. The latest news reports put 5 killed and 22 injured, not including the gunman who killed himself.
Aside, from the shock of another school shooting, this incident hit close to home. I have family that live in the community of DeKalb and one of them was a first responder to the scene. He said it was complete chaos when he arrived.

Today, Google made public it’s Social Graph API which is a way for web applications to consume specially tagged content that is designated as public connections. 50 years ago this week, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen filed the patent for a plastic interlocking brick. The brick consisted of a unique stud and tube coupling system which began a building revolution. Years later, people of all ages share in the excitement of building simple creations to space ships as wide a dinner table.
