LEGO Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Modern Brick

Lego brick50 years ago this week, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen filed the patent for a plastic interlocking brick. The brick consisted of a unique stud and tube coupling system which began a building revolution. Years later, people of all ages share in the excitement of building simple creations to space ships as wide a dinner table. Completion 0%As the new year comes around I felt it was a good time to get a laptop. However, due to other expenses such as bills, diapers, baby food, etc., a laptop isn’t on the priority list. So, I am appealing to my wonderful readers and asking for your donations so I can purchase a laptop that will serve me well as an SEO and web developer.

Here are the details of the donation drive:

Laptop Fund

  • The goal amount is $1,300. The cost of the MacBook 13″ 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with the memory upgraded to 2GB, tax and shipping.
  • All donors will be listed on this page which is linked from the home page.
  • Links will remain for one year after the goal has been reached as an thanks to all the donors.
  • Donors of $50 or more will be able to include a text link in the donor list below.
  • If you choose to donate a functional MacBook or MacBook Pro, I will take the collected amount and donate it to a charity of your choice, in your name.
