7 Data Lists to Add to Your Toolbelt of Awesomeness

standard data listsIf you are an application developer or search engine marketer then you have searched for standard data lists. Here are seven clean lists of cities, states, countries, zip codes with global coordinates, and airport codes to save you time. These lists are ready to be incorporated into your applications or campaigns.

All files are comma delimited with a quotation mark( ” ) for a text qualifier. Also, all files contain the column names in the first row. They are served from a free file host.

United States Zip Codes with Longitude and Latitude

This list is a good start when working with a Google Maps API. It is also possible to create script that will grab all of the cities, states or zip codes in the proximity of a given location. Also, you give the approximate distance between two geographic points.

Much better than just a bunch of anonymous, questionably legal, questionably fresh text files would be links to the authoritative sources for this data, which we can use to always find the most up-to-date versions of them. The kind of data that you’re talking about changes all the time, and are fairly useless without a way to get updates.
