I recently got blog tagged by cshel as part of the project started by Jeff Pulver. So here you go. A few obscure things you may or may not know about Jason Bartholme.
1.) I did a brief stint at Western Illinois University
Fresh out of high school I attended Western Illinois University. Like many others, this was my first time away from the parents. I took full advantage of the shenanigan and good times of college minus the books and studying. I did attend class, but it seemed like the knowledge just bounced off.
2.) I have Adult ADD
Last year I was reading an article about Adult ADD and symptoms and more or less diagnosed myself. I was experiencing a short attention span, trouble sitting still, nervous mannerisms, and a few other minor symptoms. The next time I went to my doctor I asked her what she thought. She set me up with Strattera as a treatment which got me nauseous every time I took it. Now, I’m on plain old Ritalin. There is such a difference once the ADD is controlled. I feel that if I would have had been diagnosed earlier in life, everything would be different.
3.) I regularly get mistaken for being Mexican
My wife and I vacationed in Cancun a few years ago for the first time. When we got off the plane, the custom’s agent looked at me, my birth certificate, and ID and said, “Welcome home Senor”. Friends and family still down let that down. When I checkout or order in some places, Mexican people often assume I speak Spanish as well.
4.) I hate clowns.
Three words: John Wayne Gacy. Coincidentally, he was executed in my hometown. I’d say it’s 50% fear and 50% loathing of clowns. There is something about people dressing up in makeup and playing with kids that just don’t settle with me.
5.) I took cshel’s sister to a school dance in high school
When I first came in to the Webmaster Radio chat room, I saw her name and didn’t think anything of it. As she talked about local things it seemed like she was from the same town as me. I private messaged her and awkwardly asked if she had a younger sister. I admit the conversation had a stalker-esque tone to it, but I was surprised to see someone from home in such a random place. You never know who you’ll run into.
People I have tagged
I’m getting into this game rather late so most of the bloggers I know have already been tagged. Here’s my list, have a look at their posts.
