Sproose Combines Search with Social Interaction for User Influenced Results
You and your users can have direct influence over the search results in the new search engine Sproose. Sproose allows the user to vote and comment on links they like, combining social bookmarking and search.
Key Features
Spoose takes the machine-calculated search data from the Yahoo!, MSN, and Ask search APIs and combines them to display the basic results. To the right of the results in a search, there is an image with a vote count. If you like a particular result or it’s your own, you can vote on it. The voted results appear in descending order followed by the unvoted results.

Initial Results

Voted Results
The site is fairly fresh, so there is a lot of opportunity for webmasters and marketers to easily assure that their result is at the top if it is not already there naturally. I think it will be interesting to see two or more sites actively compete for the top slot of a given category. That would make for some great blogging contests that would benefit everyone.
Sproose also allows you to remove a site your personal results. If you don’t like seeing results from Wikipedia or About.com, then click on the trash can and they are removed.
For each result, you can also comment on it and interact with others. An nice way to give an opinion about a site or service to others as they view the results.
Include and Promote
If your site is not showing up in the Sproose SERPs then you can have it included by finding the “Report a new webpage” link under the Webmasters & Developers section.
Here’s a great way to get your site visitors to push up your pages in Sproose’s results pages. Add one of three buttons to your website. Also in the Webmasters & Developers section, click on “Sproose It Up!” to provide your URL select your image type and a small bit of JavaScript for you to add to your site.
What I Would Like to See
As Sproose evolves into a powerful force as a socially influenced search engine, I have a few suggestions for how they can make their site more attractive to the masses. First off, create a Wordpress plugin that will allow WP users to easily add the button to their site. The plugin gets exposure from many different angles which gets the Spoose a boarder exposure.
Also, I think if they offered a variety of button types people would be more apt to add them to their site. A button that would sit on the post or article level of a site that would allow people to vote on newer content. Combine this with the index inclusion feature and they would be adding content to their index as soon people voted on a new item.
Sproose is a good looking, well designed site that appears to have tons of potential. I feel if they tap into the masses of bloggers and marketers they will have a strong product that will appeal to general audiences.
This is a sponsored review, but my opinions are genuine.
